Canceled summer plans

Summer plans for Rains DAT this week. Well forget about it. I guess everybody knows why that is.
I was thinking of driving to Öland. An iceland in the south of Sweden. Not to windsurf myself but to photograph them. I made this watercolor painting inspired of a photo I took several years ago. I love watching them and if I was young I would certainly try it!

I have now put the small, bright, paintings on a white canvas.I might call it
"Black and White kitchen wall"

PPF Blue and yellow

Yellow, holiday fantasy.
The base is a canvas 20x30cm that I painted yellow. The ballerina is the one I created earlier by cutting it out. The deers and candles are stickers I bought. I layed it out and took a shot. Fixed the rest in photoshop, removed shadows and such to create true silhouettes.

Just testing the colors. Earlier I had been cooking lingonberry (cowberry) for making jelly. I love the red colors it has. After painting the black and blue I thought the red lingon would be nice to ad. The lingonberry added some color and texture to the, well, abstract painting. Anyway, I am not going to eat it. 😀

AEDM28 Blue lake disc

I created a pour yesterday. When I looked at the table while it was drying I noticed the overflow of black paint had created a handle. The image with the handle is the image I like best, as a photographer, it also have colored reflections from my window light strand. The overflow is on a thin plastic folio. I am now preparing a mixed media painting using the "handle". But it will take time for that one to dry. 😟 I hope I can share it before AEDM is over.

I hope everyone is fine. My day is dull with heavy fog outside. I woke up early and it was still dark, Looking out my window it was foggy with streetlight shining through the treetops. Took some shots I might share later on if they are good enough. They might be all blurry.

Mermaid Squad

Still wondering what I shall do now when exhibition is over. Don´t think I will paint much more, there are too many canvases in my apartment and no place to hang them. But I still have a few new ones that will need some paint. So, I guess I am not finished yet.

This week I went through some stuff I bought a few month ago and came across the mermaid stickers. So, I started to work with them. First I laid them out on carbon paper but decided to give them a background with their own colors. I used a foam brush I had still not used and liked the patterns it gave. Think it looks like waves so very suitable here. :)

Then I glued the stickers on the canvas and learned I should have wet them first. Now they lived a life of their own on the canvas :) But I managed to get them mostly flattened.

Hope everyone is fine as fall has arrived up north and spring "down under", both colorful seasons.

Bubble wrap fun and a cat

The following was using a bubble wrap to create the patterns

Before I used the bubble wrap I pressed a canvas on the tile creating a mirror image of it.

finally I used the color on the bubble wrap to "paint" a CARBON paper and an acrylic one. You can see many of the colors get lost on the CARBON paper. And changed the feeling of it.

Lastly I had some digital fun with a cat I photographed, This time I used Topaz to do it. I find it relaxing after spending many hours at the library.

Preparing for exhibition

This image will be used for advertising and header on FB, Instagram and local papers.

One of our Mansions have a gorgeous flower field right now. Colors enhanced otherwise unchanged.

I think I will call this "Lost in space."
It is not yet finished. If it turns out as I want it I will include it to the Exhibition.
It is a canvas 40x30 cm. The orange stuff is a tangle of thin metal wire I found overrun by cars in the street. I liked the look of it. I glued 2 golden earth maps on the canvas. My concern now is how to fasten the tangle. I have got golden threads from a friend so I think I will sew the tangle to the canvas. I just have to make a test before I do. I don´t want to spoil it :) I also think of adding "Sprayed white stars" But not sure about it. What do you think??

Ice and water

Golden angel in snowy weather
This is a mixture of paint and photography edit. The "snow" comes from one of my LP:s I painted on. The angel is a figurine I got from my daughter. The landscape comes from a Scotland trip I was on.

The two images of Frozen flowers, is just that. I freeze them and when I take them out i five the ice a quick dip in water. Then I have to hurry get them photographed before it all melts.

I like the first wave I created with thick paint on canvas 12x18 cm. Yesterday evening I made the second one.

Mixed media I guess

The Egg Nebula
This is digital! I took a shot of an empty egg I had for breakfast. Lit with UV-light it looked like a nebula so it became one :)

The Glob
Canvas 20x20cm and Tempera silvery colors. Colors changes from dull to very glossy, depending on the direction you look at it. And the light of course.

Lichen Fantasy!
I found the lichen in the forest and liked it. I had this canvas made of leftover colors using a balloon and added the lichen to it. So, this is some kind of mixed media I guess.

And, a scallop with my image on it. :)
I will share it on the upcoming exhibition. Maybe somebody want to order one with their loved ones on it :) If so I have a few more to use up!
