A bit busy

This bag of small soaps are souvenirs from my trips. Finally I get a chance to make use of them :)

Finally the "Fish bowl" is finished. I glued it on a board and painted the edges a little. When the painting dryed it "sank" doen into the pizza box creating the texture of bricks. I added a little blue color on the edges.  30x30cm

"Green" A new pour on canvas. There are a little cells but not much. I think I had too creamy colors. Not fluid enough. 20x20cm

Practising movement of handdrawing using different kinds of felt tip pens and pens with gelly.
First time I did something like this. :)  Paper 15x21cm

Autumn leaf   20x20 cm
This afternoon I went to the forest to look for birch bark. I have some ideas I want to try.
I noticed many autumn colored plants and trees. So, took some  shots and picked some leafs. At home I took a canvas 20x20cm and poured medium on it. Then placed the leafs on it. Using the medium as glue. When it was almost dry I took the medium again and painted the entire canvas with it.

Now I have to wait and see what happens to the leafs. Right now they look metallic. I hope the treatment will preserve the colors. Time will tell.

My head is a mess right now. I have tons of ideas, half would be enough. But I learn a lot and it is FUN! So, just bear with me till I cool off :)

This was actually meant to be used for the "fishbowl" from last week. But when I came to this stage I thought it might be an art of it´s own. It is an old poster I scraped "clean" and got this pattern. Maybe not art, but hey, from what I see on the net it might work as such. And I like it  :)  So the Fishbowl has to wait for something else to be glued on.

Wish all of you a great art creating week.

Feather and fishbowl

 Peacock feather
This week I finished the peacock feather. Acrylic on canvas. The basic pattern comes from an old skirt I have. I have not used it much but love the colors. It is 40x50 cm.

I found some Tempera colors on sale and bought it. Thought I can test that as well. I found a "childproof" recipe, that is...non toxic. I loved the golden color and the silver and blue used here.
Not to wast a lot of money I made the pour on a pizza box 25x25 cm. It buckled of course. A lot! When it was dry I moisture it a bit on the carton side and put a glass with weights on top of  it to try to flatten it. Right now I have checked it and think I actually succeeded in making it flat :)
I call it "Fishbowl" as I think one pattern looks like a fish :)

Workstation and pouring

My new "workstation", I took the table from my balcony and are now using it for painting. It fitted perfectly between the computer desk and the door.

I made my first "dirty pour" Did not turn out exactly as I wanted but it is interesting. If I turn the painting around I see different things in it. Abstract animals and bodies and whatever.  But overall I see a  landscape from above with patches of lakes here and there. I was a bit sad when a part of the colors I liked went over the edge. But could not do anything about it.

When the painting above had dried and I took it away I found the patterns, I talk about above, on the paper.  I did take some shots and then created another digital art in Photoshop from that "over pour". I might make a poster of it and share it of the exhibition I will have in November  :)

This is what I am working on now. The peacock feather from last week are going  acrylic.
I´m learning new things about how to handle the pencils and colors. For me it is a completely new way of working. One thing I noticed is how shades and highlights occur. Quite fun.

More testing

Testing Peacock feather with glitter pen

Blue canvas

Chain art
© NF Photo 180802

Well, too hot for outdoor activity still so I have been busy indoors. Except for the first image when I took Barbie and the dragon to our skate park for a shooting session.

I have an idea to paint a peacock feather on blue canvas. So I painted the blue canvas. And for fun I added the lighter crack in photoshop. My idea is to use the blue canvas for the peacock feather, but have to practise a lot before I dare do it. The peacock feather is done with some glitter pens just for fun and practise. I think the canvas have to wait.

The last one I created with help of a chain as Nicole suggested. I like it better then the yarn. I also liked the pattern the chain gave when most color was used up so I added a little on the sides.
