AJJ Costa Rica

A Journal from my birding trip to Costa Rica 2011.

There were more then 700 bird species on the list we recieved when we arrived to CR. I manage to photograph, I think it was, 298 species. Yet our host said the species decline in numbers had already begun. And they were very concerned. Anyway, I had a wonderful trip. And the hummingbirds were all favorites. So beautiful. And fun to watch.

I have heard the situation are even worse today. The White cap in the Journal was rare already. There was only a few birds left. It might be gone today. 😭

Yellowstone part 2 and 3

Yellowstone part 2 and 3 AJJ

Part 1! I already shared it in an earlier post.

So, this is part 2.

Yellowstone valley, some souvenir stones and a group photo.

The middle shot in the low part is two stones that I photographed with different colored light.

Part 3

Visting Petrified Forest, Teton range and San Fransisco

You see me in the red top and sitting on the rock.

It has been a very emotional journey creating this ArtJournal. Going through the photoalbums and seeing the photos brings back soo many memories. Like when we had a sandstorm in the desert in Arizona. No shots from that event. Had to hide the camera from all sand. The sand was everywhere and almost spoiled the camera despite the attempt to protect it.

I really miss this place.

Yellowstone and my Hat

YELLOWSTONE

In 1994 I made my first trip to Yellowstone. It was arranged as a journey of knowledge of a scientific magazine I read. If I translate the name of the magazine it will be "Research and progress journal". I still read it.

I learned a lot about the nature of rocks at the Rocky Mountains and volcanic activities at Yellowstone.

And as you can see, this is the trip where I bought my hat. That hat have followed me around the world. Every trip except one, it has followed me. In Varanger, in Norway, it was too cold for hats.

I have made one more trip to Yellowstone, and of course, so did my hat.

For this Journal I went through a lot of old papers and photos and arranged them first on a large black paper, then took it to the computer and fixed it together.

My crying Angel

May I introduce my nameless angel.

She was a gift from my daughter and granddaughter many years ago. They knew that I love wings. All kind of wings so when they saw this one in a shop they bought it for me.

She is quite large, 36 cm across the wing tips.

As you can see she has been with me on many occations. She is one of the few things I will NEVER throw away.

I think it is a private person that created her as there are no writings or ID on her.

You also see one of the shots that is my blogs Header. That place is a church ruin. The only church I enter freely. Today I don´t have the car anymore so I will probably never go there again.

If you know of a good name that might suit her, please let me know in a comment.

This might be an unusual Journal but I hope you don´t mind.

Happy New Year

Selfie art Journal, "Using a photo"

Giggling, this is, kind of weird. For the moment it is my "artworkdesk". There are different pieces of nature, paintings, background horses. A matchbox, a CD with a photo of me and my reflected fingers pretends to hold it.

I think that covers it. 😎😇

This is my new calendar.

There are no photos or images on the sheets so you have to create them yourself.

And, when I bought it I did not see there were two of them.

So, now I will have a lot to create for the entire year of 2023.

You might be tired of them after a few months.

Hm, almost forgot, for January I used dry lichen to glue on and a photo of the firework on New Years Eve.
