Snowy Winter in Japan and New Year

This is a Journal from my trip to Japan in 2019. First we made a short stop on an island in the south. It was supposed to have a  Mediterranean climate, but when we arrived it was snowing. And the locals was not used to snow. Then we went to the big island to see the Snow monkeys. And lastly to Hookaido in the north to see the Red-crowned crane and the huge Sea eagle. Said to be the largest eagle in the world. 

A bit late I realized there are a lot of faces on this Journal page. :) 

To make sure I'll have things to do next year, I bought myself some new art supplies. 

This is five different textures. It is not "colors", they gives different textures. The gold was good for flowers I noticed. The grey is sand and pavements. The one in the center might be good for waves.

I found these acrylic colors two days after the paste. The colors goes well together. 

I have already plans for the green and the "orange-brown" one. 

And finally, New Years party. 

Happy New Year everyone. 

I don't think there will be many fireworks this year. It has been limited in recent years. At first it scares the pets and even some people too. And they litter because people don't clean up after themselves.

First a Winter Christmas scene my parentes created. A piece I bring back every Christmas. 

My dad created the pieces from wood and my mother painted and decorated it. 

And I gave it a new digital backdrop. 

I have seen it every Christmas since I was a child, and now I have it. 

Our version of Santa is Jultomte. So this is Tomten coming with gifts. 

I have been thinking of painting birds. Now I actually did one. 

A sunbird I met in Queensland many years ago.

This is created as a memory from my two visits to Iceland. All nine images except the map is my footage. I like Iceland. Such a small country with soo much to do and see. 

I would love to go back but that will probably not happen.

Winter fun!

It is cold outside. Rather strange really, first time in many years we have this much snow and cold in many years. It usually starts in January when kids go back to school.  This year they will be able to both ski and skate during the holidays, hopefully!

And I really love the beauty of cold winter. My problem is that when it is cold my camera are cold too and don´t reponds that well. The only photo in this journal is the ice-crystals below the moon. 

Stars or snow??? Or both?  Well, that´s up to you. 

The background is an A4 painting I did earlier. The ice is some window decorations I have. 

Sagittarius is from the net somewhere. Actually two images.

The Star in Snowy winter!

There are not much snow outdoors but in my image files there are. This Journal is crested from three of my photos. The landcape, the deer and my grandaughters snowy hair. 

And a lot of digital work.

Wishing you the right amount of snow. Some wants a lot, others nothing. 

Myself I think 5-10 cm is perfect. Keeps nature beautiful.

Cranes passing Fuji

For Our Midweek muse   Inspired by Japan

Ingemar, born 1925

He is my father, but he is no longer with us. 

Before he passed away he gave me this bell. He said that when he was a toddler my grandmother, Ingrid, did hang it around his neck. They lived on a farm and that was her way to know where he was. 

The sound of this bell is wonderful. Strong, yet brittle.

I bought it in Lithuania many years ago. It is actually a candle holder

I think I will have to take more shots of it. This was the only angle I had.
