Phantom of the Opera and exhibition

For Rains promt "musical" I go back many years in time.
This was 1989 and I and my daughter was in Hamilton on a skipping camp. On our way home we stayed in Toronto for 2 nights. We were happy to see The phantom of the Opera was on a theatre nearby our hotel. And we were lucky enough to get 2 seats on top row. The only ones empty so close to date.
In the image you see a younger me with the Phantom t-shirt on for christmas. The Phantom on the scallop is my grandson who I photographed with a mask on. He likes to dress up as different characters and visit fantasy convents.  So, I made this on his request. This scallop is now hanging over his pillow.

Deers in blue
This is photoart. It is created from two images, One is a closeup on grass the other one are fallow deers. Worked in Photoshop and Topaz.

Chain flowers
I painted this a few days ago for an exhibition themed Red!
It is painted with acrylics and chains used as "pencil". Canvas 30x40cm

These are the three paintings I left at the Exhition yesterday. It will open Saturday. It is just a small art gallery so not many will visit I think. People are also still used that places are corona closed. Yet, there was quite many artists that has brought their work. So it will be nice and fun to see the exhibition.
My art is "Leftover", "Chain flowers" and "Valentine"

In Sweden we have got a few floodings. But not as hard as down in central Europe. Some things destroyed but no injuries as far as I know.

Take care. Right now I think fires and floods seem worse then Corona. You can still wear the mask to protect yourself from smoke.

Favorite Decades??

Transition!
Today Rains promt is Your favorite decade today.  Well, as I live in the present and don´t take much attention to the past so I cheat a little bit today. When it comes to favorite decades it will certainly never be the present one. Who wants to remember Corona, fire and floods?
Transition is the place where the unknown future becomes the known past. Constantly moving in time.

I had a dream the other morning and I follow that! I dreamed I painted the floods! It took some testing before I got to it. So, this week I painted and photographed my very first Dark art! Not sure where this will take me. I feel torn about it! My second alias has always been Catching Light! Not the dark!

I worked on A3 watercolor paper.
First try I grabbed some color tubes, thought it was acrylic or watercolor but I misstook it and it was oil. The tubes look similar so mistakes are likely. Because of that the color did not work at all as I thought it would. It flowed very reluctantly over the paper.
Beach!
Well, I kind of like it and went to fetch some of my shells, and Voila, I have a beach.

OK, next step on a new paper ended up with:
Crossing!
Painted with oil and acrylic.

Floods disaster!
Finally, this is pretty much what I dreamed. No image used as inspiration. Just the phootage seen on the news.
In this case the dish soap made the oil more fluid. And cleaning up was easier.

That was the floods, lets finish with an old piece with fire.

The fire!
painted with Tempera on an old LP-record.

This week I had problems with the oil and how to dry the painting and to clean the brushes.
First I learned on YouTube that in some cases you can quich up the drying by putting some kind of tissue over it. It kind of soakes up a little oil and it dries quicker.
The next was to get the paint more fluid and to clean brushes and hands. Using that dishing soap solved those problem. The soap also created some nice cells if you like that.
😂

Hope you don´t mind I twisted Rains promt today.

There has been a lot of flooding and fires across the world this week. In sweden we only had a little flooding in the south part. Nothing we could not handle so far.
Take care. And use the mask to keep safe from fire smoke as well!

Morning and other art

The promt for Rains challenge is Morning today.
I created the doortag at first. And then went to find bookmarks on Tumbelina.
I have always cared for the bookmarkers as they are from my childhood and from my mothers. Now when I get older I can as well use them. I doubt my daughter is interested in them. I searched the net a few years ago to see if they were valuable. They was not 😞

Crossing and windy mosaic

Hallo everyone. Hope everything is fine with you. Over here it is hot and humid and I am not a fan of that. Speaking of fan, I created a fan on placemats for Rains promt CrissCross today.

Fanned placemats
These are made of venners sewn together to form a placemat. The fan is also made of veneers so they really fit together. Created by my photos in Photoshop.

Had some fun with different things this week.
Top row is a veneer plate with some mapleseed and painting on it.
The butterfly also ahve some seeds. Painted and glued on photopaper
The unicorn is painted on CARBon black A4 paper. Acryl, pencil and stencil
My tag no2 is also created with seeds and an old bookmark angel I have.

Windy!
Full action on a field and something has a hard time flying
😂

Tiny and testing new things

Today Rains theme is Miniatyre. Gave me some problems as I have a lot of miniatyres.

Natures art, Acorn
Two years ago the acorns had some kind of infections that made some of them really beautiful. I picked as many as I could find and even painted on some of them. But the ones on the image is natural.

Kinese garden.  (or maybe japanese)
A miniature I bought many years ago. The board it sits on is 8x4cm. Most of the pieces is carved in thin wood.

In the ocean.
My first ever Tag, and my mothers necklace can act as a fishingnet.

Sticky, grumpy, face!
This is created with a set of sticky notes I found on Dollarstore.

Black beach!
Breated on a scallop with sand, a shell and lavapieces from my trip to Hawaii, Big island, many years ago. At that time one was allowed to walk in Kilauea volcano. Not possible anymore as it is erupting.

Peles Tears!
Pele is Kilaueas and Hawaii´s goddess of volcanoes and fire. When you visit you are supposed to offer something for her. So, I placed a strain of my hair in the volcano.
The small droplets of lava is really tiny. When they cools like this they call them Peles tears.
So, these are lava pieces from Kilauea. The size of the oyster shell is ca 7cm long.

I guss I need to stop here. Or the post will be overloaded.
Taek care everyone,. Today is July 1:st. Half the year already gone.
