A tribute to my parents

My mothers painting and my fathers Juniper wood work

Today I thank Rain for the theme Gates and Fences. I finally know what to do with my parents artwork.
My mother loved to paint in oil and my father loved woodwork. Especially in Juniper wood.
Today I combined the Autumn forest and the Juniper pieces of wood.
I wrote their names on the base of the gate.
So far the wood is only placed upon the canvas. Now I have to figure out how to attach them permanently.

I have been fooling around with Geli printing a bit this week. As I don´t have a geli plate I used a transparent, plastic cutting board.

I photographed each stages on the work. First shot is the background painted on the board. Then let it dry. Next I painted a flower on top of it. And the blue stripes.
Image 4 shows the result of having plastic folie on top of the wet color. And ripping it off.
For image 5 I had to spray water on the board as the basic layer were dry. And they need to be wet.
I put a sheet of watercolor paper on top of the wet color. Pressed it down to capture the wet color. And lifted it slowly.

If you wonder why the final image is turned the other way it is because when you paint on the geli board, you paint the negative and turn it to positive in the last stage.

Had some fun with coffee filter too. Might be the same flower as above!
😉

Take care everyone. It is chilly today, spring is slow, and I have a heater blowing some warmth.

Future and swipe

The Future!
One thing I wish for in a near future is for the Library to open. Painted with acrylic on Photopaper! And a pen with white ink!

Waterfall!
Tested if a swipe with acrylics would work on the photopaper I have. This is just a small one. Taking the image into Photoshop I decided to "steal" the copper color and fill the background to see what it would look like.

A little This and that!

A sidenote: It started to snow again a few minutes ago.
Not fun after having a few days with almost summer. 😒

Coils, twirls and mosaic

Hi guys! Today I start with what I painted and finish with a coil mosaic.

Heartfully recorded!
On a single song old fashioned vinyl record disc. Acrylic color and die cut´s. "Framed" in PS!

Windy!
It has been windy for a while now and I thought I´d try to catch the motion. Captured with the tools I used. Acrylic on sketch paper A4.

Twirly Mosaic
During the years I created quite a lot of swirls and twirls from my photos. I thought it was a good idea to share some of them. Hope you like them. Even the Mosaics backgound is a twirl.

Evening and scallop

Evening in Varanger
For Rains promt this week, digital edit.

For quite some time I wanted to try something with this scallop.
4 days ago I gathered my unused oil colors and a pink paper I had. I did not want too much oil on my pencils as I knew it is very differnt from acrylics, so I decided to fingerpaint it.

Scallop in Oil on A4 pink paper
After several days this piece is still not dry. Guess that was the end of my oil adventure!
😒

Masked face!
When I walked in my destroyed forest yesterday I found this mask hanging on a twig. I brought it home to throw it away but decided to have some fun with it.
I guess you can call this "mixed media".

Finally the Corona makes shopping harder. I wanted to buy Watercolor paper but found none. It is gone from the shops and noone knows when it might be available again. I still have lots of other papers but they can´t be used for aquarelle/watercolor. So for now I only have a few sheets left for watercolor. And, two small canvases I can use.

So, for now I have colored paper and the photographic paper to work on. And the computer!
I´ll manage.

For you who followed me on Instagram I have to tell you I am out of there now.
I had an app that allowed me to post from my computer. But it got
wrong somehow and started to shot me out. I had to prove my id and change pw more times then I want to. Now I could not even do that. So, my IG time is over.
But I am  still here in blogland!

Take care everyone!

Door, leaf and ballerina

Watching his dream girl!
This is my travelling companion Andreas from my trip to Varanger. He is watching his dreamgirl inside my freezer!

Enlarged from the working file! This composite is created of 6 images; 2 muchrooms I photographed, one lady (free from internet), my empty freezer, Andreas and the door from an outdoor museum I visited.
So, this is for Rains promt of Doorways and Alleys this week.

The Maple leaf
I saw some leafs in a dirty ditch, it looked quite interesting. So, it ended up like this in Photoshop.

The paint from the roller last week, I peeled it off.

The ballerina!

I painted a new background in acrylic color. I had the circle cutout earlier in an OH- sheet. The problem seem always to be to stop the paint to flow under the sheet.

It is Aprils fool today. And as it is Easter too I wish you all a Happy Easter!
I saw it on the almanack. Since I retired I have problems keeping track of holidays. I thought it was next week! 😀

I am now scheduled for the first vaccine shot!
