Art this week about cracks and atoll

Time table cracks!
This is an old one I did. The cracks was on the plastic cover over the bus time table.

Created some cracks on 2 smaller photopapers using thick watercolor paint. You can see the fine line in the center. One paper is "up" the other upsidedown. I wanted to see if it made any difference painting on them the different surfaces. Was not much really. I added some reed here and there.

The atoll
on hard board 18x24 cm. The shells and other things are not yet glued on it.
Still have not decided if it is supposed to be glued on.

This is the board photographed in sunshine. That is why the color differs from the one above.
I think I will keep it this way as I can use it as a frame.
It is tempera colors and thick pasta for the "atoll". And sand from a beach in the center. The sand is glued on.

I hope everybody is still fine where ever you live. Sun is shining and we gets nearer to summer. I´m not sure I want summer just yet. Spring is great! I hope you are allowed to go outdoors. I am.

Mermaid Squad

Still wondering what I shall do now when exhibition is over. Don´t think I will paint much more, there are too many canvases in my apartment and no place to hang them. But I still have a few new ones that will need some paint. So, I guess I am not finished yet.

This week I went through some stuff I bought a few month ago and came across the mermaid stickers. So, I started to work with them. First I laid them out on carbon paper but decided to give them a background with their own colors. I used a foam brush I had still not used and liked the patterns it gave. Think it looks like waves so very suitable here. :)

Then I glued the stickers on the canvas and learned I should have wet them first. Now they lived a life of their own on the canvas :) But I managed to get them mostly flattened.

Hope everyone is fine as fall has arrived up north and spring "down under", both colorful seasons.

The exhibition is over and my head is empty. Almost 4 weeks seemed to have drained me. As the library is in my town I want to visit a while every day to talk to whoever visit. It is fun to see what they like and think about it.

First image today is a shot in the forest. Almost a SOOC (straight out of camera) image.
The second one "Flight" is a composite with 4 images from 2 countries I visited, Costa Rica and Japan.

Fall is around the corner with fresh air. I love it!

Bubble wrap fun and a cat

The following was using a bubble wrap to create the patterns

Before I used the bubble wrap I pressed a canvas on the tile creating a mirror image of it.

finally I used the color on the bubble wrap to "paint" a CARBON paper and an acrylic one. You can see many of the colors get lost on the CARBON paper. And changed the feeling of it.

Lastly I had some digital fun with a cat I photographed, This time I used Topaz to do it. I find it relaxing after spending many hours at the library.

Resin digital and acrylic color

I made my first three Resin pieces. As I am not the girly type so I used forest items.It is moss, lichen and acorns. You might remember I tried several ways as I wanted to preserve the beautiful colors in the acorns. This seem to work.
I used a silicon icecube form for this but was a bit disturbed as it buckled. Sides are not straight. And there are bubbles in the first one but with tiny mosses and lichen it was expected and actually fitting.

This is one of my chain pulls. I edited it a lot in Photoshop, I copied the white pull and made an Extrude of the form. Then put it back on the background careful to cover the real pull. It worked :) :)

A while back I bought a set of acrylic colors. As I am quite unfamiliar with them I decided to open them up and see how they work on different papers. 2 white papers and the black carbon.
It is quite obvious what colors can be used on the black carbon paper. And probably on black canvas.

The tubes was filled to the limit and color burst out when probing the hole. I had to go and get a safety needle to prick just a tiny hole in them. I liked the burnt sienna a lot :)

Rosella and scratched landscape

This was actually meant to be used for the "fishbowl" from last week. But when I came to this stage I thought it might be an art of it´s own. It is an old poster I scraped "clean" and got this pattern. Maybe not art, but hey, from what I see on the net it might work as such. And I like it :) So the Fishbowl has to wait for something else to be glued on.

The Hop image is only a small one as it comes from a Printscreen image. When you want to sharpen just a few curves in Camera Raw you can sometimes see lots of interesting patterns. But you can´t keep them in any other way then Print Screen and that is just a small image. As soon as you let go of the button the pattern is gone.

The feather image is a combination of Photoshop and Topaz filters. And some other features. 😎

I learned something new today from a tutorial I noticed. How to create a sketch yourself in Photoshop. Not exactly a pencil sketch, but I liked it.

The second image is created from an image on my trip to Japan two years ago. I found it as I am posting this trip on my travel account on Instagram right now. NF travelsandbirds
