This is the balloon in work, would not be surprised if this is your favorite as it is mine.

Rains theme this week is Swipe! So, I thought I´d have some fun with working on the photo papers and tempera color. I´m reluctant to buy more canvases as they are overflowing my apartment, collecting dust! The paper sits fine in a file and is quite fun to work with.

Hope everyone is fine. It is HOT over here so I probably stay indoors today. 😓

Tiny wooden boats and a little PS

This is what the final exhibition looks like. Just a little is missing to the right.
One more week to go, then it is over.

People seem to like the small wooden boats so I created a few more. These are shorter then the other one. I share before and after the balloon pressing.  I think that this would be fun for teachers in school to do with their students. Easy to do, not that much sloppy and fun. And it is useful to keep small things in.

Finally, 2 more works in Photoshop.

Wave and exhibition plans

A dragonfly got Twisted in Photoshop
Who knew it could look like that 😊

Did set up the display case yesterday. But seeing the shot now I think I will change it.
The canvases seem crowded and need to be moved "downstairs"

Wooden boats and balloon prints
Just some testing. Would see if it was possible to use the balloon in those small wooden boats. They are really made for serving vegetables for dinner.
Last time I played with Sprinklers they lost colors when getting into  the tempera color. This time I sprayed them with fixative first and let them dry before I added them to the glue. It worked

The actual exhibition starts Monday. So far I mainly played around sharing old pieces and test objects in the additional time I had. Having fun with it. 😎😊
Still to close to summer so, not much people around. Hopefully more visitors next two weeks.

LP-flower and Microcosmos

LP-flower
This is painted on an LP-disc. A black background and then I too a chain with white color to create the "frame" In the center I added a few colored paint spots and used a balloon to create the flower.

This is the Microcosmos shell from last week. Yesterday I noticed on my balcony this piece of birch bark and placed the shell on it. Now I think this is how my "Microcosmos" is complete :)

Coral reef and Grand Prismatic

After I wet and flattened the leather I placed them on a black board I already had. I glued them on with medium and let it dry before painting

I did not want to fill the entire board with balloon pattern I wanted the leather to be visible, so I placed medium and the colors like this. Then I can also see what they look like when the colors blends.

I ended up with the board and a canvas. I used the canvas to "clean" the balloon from excess colors. That way my balloon patterns did not mix with each other.

When I saw this final board I immediately thought ... Coral reef. :) So, this turned out to be for my granddaughter. She is leaving for Queensland Feb 4th. She will study Marine biology Master class so she will spend a lot of time in the Great Barrier reef. I envy her!

Grand Prismatic inspiration shot

Colors, balloon and the canvas with colors before ballooning. I painted the blue with my fingers. I kind of like how it turned out.

In this case I used too much red color. The blue in the middle must be much larger. I actually like the last ballon pattern I made on the test canvas I have.

But it is FUN to experiment!

As Nicole mentioned in her post we had a nice chat of ideas. Nicole was interested in the balloon flower pattern from last week.  She finally got me to look through the bag of small leather pieces I have stored for many years. We chatted about how to get the best result from balloon painting. And leatherwork. What material I have is not good for sculpting so I will try other things. And Coral Reef was fun to create. Thanks Nicole!

Kind of messy balloonart

This was fun to work with. And it did not take that much color as a pour does. Also gives you more control of patterns. The balloon press the color out in a circual pattern. I added a few more drops of colors during the dripping balloon process.
