Abstract photo and family scallops

The Elephant
lol, I thought this became an elephant head, but somebody saw a Cobra :) Two completely different species seen in one image.  The original image is actually the water created from a turning ferry.

Sketch of Terns seen in Scotland

My family!
I created these yesterday so they are not yet dry. The wedding is my daughter and her husband. The green scallop is me and I think I shall use it on my upcoming exhibition  in September. The last one is my granddaughter and grandson. My favorite image of them. The size of the scallops are about 12x12cm

Wedding memory for Janet &Andy
This is not yet dry. I added some decorations for nails on it. Hearts and stars. Those tiny things I had to pick up with tooth pics to place them on the thick paint. At the bottom is a few decorative stones.

They  have not seen it yet so I hope they will like it :)

Dark Abstracts and Midsummer

Dark Power
Photoshop work! I was playing around with an image of two beautiful art glasses I have. Then I was looking for a fairy to complete the image, but, I found a devil :)  Think the pair sits nicely on their thrones :)

  Dark Fountain 2
This is a brighter version of the Dark Fountain from last week. Not as much black this time and more colors. This is photographed when it was dry.
Tempera on white Canvas 24x30 cm

This is a detail of the one above. Photographed when still wet and then color enhanced in Photoshop.

Captured golden seafloor - Gyllene havsbotten
I liked the string of black on the white board so I tried to capture a kind of pour in the middle of it. I wanted fo keep the interaction between the black and the white color.
And finally added the "black spot" in the center.
Tempera on white Canvas 28x28 cm

This is a photo I took yesterday. In Sweden we celebrate "Midsummer" to celebrate the summer solstice and today is Midsummer eve. So, I wish you all a great Midsummer. :)

Scallop and canvas

Dark fountain
This is a chainpull on white canvas 24x30cm. I had used too much black so I think it became too dark for my taste.
I´m thinking of creating another with more white in it, But I am out of canvases. And, so are the shops. There are three places selling canvases and all of them are waiting for their orders to arrive . Seems the ship is astray somewhere. This made me realize a problem. All of the stores are buying supplies from a single supplier in, probably, China. That way no supplies finds my country if that delivery is disturbed.  :(

My daughter on a scallop
I printed her photo and fixative to stabilize the colors. Then added medium on the scallop and the image on that. carefully pressing the photo to avoid wrinkles. Then added the sand and stars and finally the blue.

Trees n seas

Wetland forest
This is a photo that I edited with "Split toning" in PS. This means you give different colors to highlight and dark areas. In this case blue and green.

In the sea
I bought an old canvas and painted on it with my silvery, tempera colors. It´s a bit shiny but I like the colors.  Canvas 30x30cm

Dusk
This is an image I got in my head when I woke up the other day. I clearly saw the white circle and the dark trees. I call it Dusk but I don´t really know if it is dawn or dusk or the sun or moon. :) But, who cares?  :)

Travel tree and music

This is an image from Morocco. I was inside a market place so it got blurred because it was dark. I took it to Photo shop and enhanced  it with a filter. I think you can call it Impressionist photo.
I like to go through old travel images. Here and there I find something useful :)

Whimsical Tree Goddess, finished, I think! Canvas 31x40 cm. Acrylics
I did not want a large black space at the bottom so I let her skirt flow out so the background is visible. This exercise was good and I, kind of, like the finished one. BUT, I clearly need more practise to teach my hand and arm how to paint curves :)

I think I will call this one "Louis Armstrong"
It is painted on an OLD record with Louis music on.  I bought the record in a second hand store. I don´t dare  tell my sister. She liked the old music. :) Well, could not play it anyway. It was 78rm
I used a colander for the pour. Tempera color. The record soaked up a lot of  paint. :)

Summer is closing in but we need much more rain where I live. I hope everyone are safe from drought and flooding.

 Copper birch abstract

Whimsical tree´s texture canvas with shadow pattern, edited in photoshop

This is the "Whimsical Tree Goddess" project.
I saw the video on Youtube and thought it is a good exercise for handling pencils. First time  I got the blending of  Acrylic colors to my liking. It was well explained how to do it. So I was happy :)
Then I made a sketch of the treegoddess. And got stuck! It is hard to transfer the sketch to the canvas as the canvas surface is kind of, slippery.
So, for the time being I photographed the canvas texture and took it to photoshop for some fun edit.

LP-flower and Microcosmos

LP-flower
This is painted on an LP-disc. A black background and then I too a chain with white color to create the "frame" In the center I added a few colored paint spots and used a balloon to create the flower.

This is the Microcosmos shell from last week. Yesterday I noticed on my balcony this piece of birch bark and placed the shell on it. Now I think this is how my "Microcosmos" is complete :)
