Colors and circle

Colors of life

Acrylic on 30x40 canvas
As I have acrylic paint I wanted to play around with it. I had seen something on Youtube I wanted to try. But of course, my work took it´s own path. It´s not even close to what I started with :)

 My Circled Universe

One sketch and  painting on carbon paper, and 2 pours, one on canvas the other on an LP record,  combined in Photoshop

Re the "My Circled Universe" I have seen some kind of challenge on Instagram It is only a few days left but I want to see if I can join in.

Polarising filter and Saturn part 2

Fantasy Planets, Saturn project.

Continuing from last week. I did a few exercises on painting the planet on OH plastic sheets.
Last week Susan suggested that I can use that weeks pour to create a planet. Worked out well I think. Thank you Susan!

So, for the finished piece I opened Photoshop. Copied one of the Saturns and created another planet of the pour in PS. Then I created the background universe with stars, a comet and dust clouds. And put it all together. Not sure if I am finished though.
It is fun being able to combine paint and photo like this :)

I learned this trick from an ad on FB. They use a polarizing filter on the camera and photograph some plastic in front of a computer screen. Turned out I had a filter and it suited the camera lens. But it was not so easy. The colors changes with every movement of the camera.  The piece I photographed is a magnifying glass for reading. And to make it a bit more interesting I added the angels.

Working with polarizing filter and a laptop screen:

Photoedit, pour and Saturn project

Photo edit.  If you look close you can see it is my red Hoya in bloom.

Photo edit of a "burning" moss, I call it On fire!

This is a tempera pour on canvas. I call it Busy! I did not make the color thin enough. But I am getting used to it.

This is something I started yesterday. I call it Project Saturn.
My brother think I am a better painter then I actually am and asked me to create a Fantasy Saturn image. I thought I try it on a carbon paper so I won´t spoil a canvas on this. And I don´t have to paint the black. As I have worked on a heavy truck design department for the better part of my adult life I did not dare to draw circles free handed. So I gathered some of my old tools. I included the image I am trying to paint. But so far I covered the paper with an OH sheet. I have to figure out what brush to use and the blending of colors. Doing that on the OverHead sheet will give me some experience even if I know the paper will be different still.
Keep your fingers crossed that I will have something to share next week :)

Let your creativity flow! And may spring be around soon up north.

Last but not least, Happy 8th birthday PPF
