Testing fanbrush on canvas

I have a canvas that is damaged. Thought I use it for practising different brushes. The work above is only a part of that canvas.
This week I tested to use the fanbrush. Seem to me I have a lot of more practising to do. The major problem seem to be the thickness of the color and the preparation of the canvas. I can´t get it to "flow" the way I see them doing in videos. As a fantasy I kind of like it anyway.
