Art the end of August

Masked!
My version of TAD:s theme this week. Expressionism! Photoart using two of my photos.

The ocean!

This is what came out of the experiment last week. I started with putting Heavy gel medium here and there in the water part to create texture. Then glued some pieces of  lava rock to create rocky islets. Painted with only blue and white tempera color on A4 watercolor paper.

Opposites!
I named this Opposites as, when it dried, I saw water and fire! Waves and flames!
This is Tempera color and glitter on A3 watercolor paper.

Bird!
I thought I should try birds a little more so I started with one I thought would be easy. I was wrong. I have a lot to figure out! The original is a card I recieved from my granddaughter who studied in Australia for a year. The card is made as "paper filigram", it is stunning! Not sure what species it is.

Two images from the past post.
Volcano hummingbird!
Photowork using two images from my trip to Costa Rica many years ago.

Look, a butterfly!
An oldie I created many years ago. Photoshop.

  2. Love the woodgrain mask, looks deep in thought. The card you received from your Granddaughter is so charming, you did a grand job on replicating it.

  8. Fr Andrea: Actually I did comment on last weeks post, but maybe I didn't publish is correctly ... sorry. What I remember saying is that I loved the lady's face on the board ... unique I called it (and as You recall, I have dubbed you the queen of unique :). Of course I loved your bird painting and your adorable hummers (what kind of hummingbirds are they ... They are very different than the ones we have here. And lastly I said how much I loved the child finding the butterfly ... that one pulls on my heart strings :) All in all, it was a wonderful post, Monica ... so sorry I messed up my comment.

    Thanks a lot.
