Space

Space, not too far away is Saturn. Painted on a scallop with tempera.

Space! Two colliding galaxies
Photowork.

Orange background painted with GESSO and acrylic color on a photopaper A4. I tried to cover the paper with gesso before coloring it. It was quite cool as it created the curves and features of the spatula I used to spread it out. I let it be uneaven. Then let it dry before coloring several layers. Took quite some time to finish as every layer has to dry before adding the next one. I was planning to paint some flowers on it but change my mind.

Instead of painting I search my files for Akleja-Columbine.  I used an old BW image I have.

Akleja!
And this is the final result. Paint and photo combined in PS.

My world can´t decide weather it is winter or spring. And we have a storm coming so I´d rather stay indoors today.

  1. this is a great idea to paint Saturn in the shell. Looks intrigued. Also The galaxies with this color, great.
Your flower picture is breathtaking as you put it together digitally, every single one, whether the photo in b/w or the background, is fabulous.
The storm is there with me too.
I wish you a pleasant creative day, hug Elke

  9. I've seen you paint inside shells before always takes me back to when I was a child when shells like this were everywhere during summer holidays. Love you tempera space scene. We have high winds and bitter cold rain here in the UK, it's blowing your way.
Hide away and paint... Happy PPF Tracey xx

  12. Painting space in a sea shell, which is a space of it's own. Nice, Monica :) Love your texture and colors and especially love it when you added the Columbine. Beautiful!!! Your idea's would seem to be endless :) Storms could mean Spring, right? At least when we get a good thunderstorm, it is for sure a sign of Spring ... I love the smell of the air after a good rain, don't you? Be well, Monica ...
