I went to the local lake where we have a small beach. It always makes me restless while tanning so I brought some pens and paper with me.
Then I noticed the shadow of the grass moving on my paper. So had some fun trying to catch it.
Think I have to find a way to make the grass itself more visible. 💥
At home I continued the "grass" project. Now with watercolor on paper. A4
This is watercolor on sketch paper A5

Wow Monica, you have found the perfect way to beat the heat. That lovely lake scene would definitely have a cooling effect. Just seeing that water would calm and cool me.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how you captured the shadows on your paper. That grass project could surely turn into a series, too.
Lovely art in the heat today!
ReplyDeletegreat that you also have such a nice place at the lake! Nice what you have drawn and the grasses give the shadows is interesting and what you made of them ... as beautifully colorful as summer and heat!

Lovely creations, love the idea of capturing the grass shadows.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing your art!
ReplyDeleteLove that shadow inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt is on hot days like this that I miss our lake. We always had a lake breeze that kept things tolerable. I love your grass shadow and your grass drawing. I think a tall willowy grass captures nature at her most versatile ... Just beautiful, Monica. And yes, stay cool, safe and well :)

DeleteHi Monica :)) How nice to have a lake 10 minutes away! Do you ever swim in it? We have yet to dunk ourselves into the river, we want to find a quiet little entrance that nobody else knows about!! I think it might wait until next summer though. I think it's so neat that you drew your grass shadow. Very neat and I love your "pencil exercise"!!
