Rough and red

Fly agaric!

Rain wanted it Rough today and actually pointed out one painted on sandpaper. As I have some I took a piece out adn started tp paint. As it is mushroom times I thought one would be easy to paint.
Also for a TAG and MM

The red ribbon!

One day I soptted the red ribbon beside my sewing machine. And the brain started to work. I placed it on the CARBon black paper I have and then fetched a red pipe cleaner from a box.

The red ribbon, next step!
Further developed. As I have a large black sheet of paper I placed it there and added a piece of birch bark, leaves and a pin that is a souvenier from Costa Rica. The pieces are not glued, just layed out and photographed. Not sure if it can go as Still life art?

Poppy in the wind!
A photo altered in photoshop!

My parents art combined!
I have finally sewed on dads juniper pieces on my mothers landscape. It is now on my wall.

Work in progress! Waiting for ideas of how to progress. I did place Heavy gel medium on A4 paper. And added some small pieces on it. It is now dry and ready for whatever comes next.
😁😇

It is raining outside and I have some cleaning to do. A good day for indoor work.
Take care!

  1. Monica,

Clever idea to paint on sandpaper! You might find it interesting when you see my last art sketch in today's collection. I'm sorry for not visiting more frequently this summer but I tried stepping back a bit in Blogosphere. Have a doodletastic day, my dear!

  6. The Red on the black is stunning ... you should make them permanent. I love your mushrooms on the sandpaper. The texture seems to make them look more alive. but my favorite is the art work of your parents put together as they were together. It is not only beautiful, but it has wonderful meaning. Love it all today, Monica. We need rain here. It has been dry and hot ... our grass is brown and the flowers wilt every day unless I water them. Weather can be a beast. :) Stay well, my friend ...

  8. You're so clever, Monica! I loved your still life photo. Red is my favorite color, so it really drew my eyes. And your poppy is lovely. One of these years I might try Photoshop. And your piece with your parents' art is beautiful and poignant. Happy creating in September!
