In 1994 I made my first trip to Yellowstone. It was arranged as a journey of knowledge of a scientific magazine I read. If I translate the name of the magazine it will be "Research and progress journal". I still read it.
I learned a lot about the nature of rocks at the Rocky Mountains and volcanic activities at Yellowstone.
And as you can see, this is the trip where I bought my hat. That hat have followed me around the world. Every trip except one, it has followed me. In Varanger, in Norway, it was too cold for hats.
I have made one more trip to Yellowstone, and of course, so did my hat.
Another piece from Yellowstone.

ReplyDeleteYellowstone is on our list of places to see. We hope to visit out west after DH retires. Going that distance by car will take a lot of extra time and a two week vacation isn't long enough for the trip. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your YellowStone inspired art today
ReplyDeleteMuch❤love
Lovely pieces!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous you were able to go to Yellowstone. I have been there many times. Love your art and have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Yellowstone amazing? Your trips sound fantastic. I've been a couple of times and I can understand why you would want to know about the rocks and the geology. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Yellowstone but I am sure I would enjoy it. I had wondered about the hat. I have several caps that were bought on trips. Perhaps I will find a hat on a future trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you Monica for joining FFO.
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning photos, Monica. I can see why you would be enthralled with Yellowstone. I love both of these and really love how they both fit with Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey, too. Thanks for linking.
ReplyDeleteDo you know that I have never been to Yellowstone ... it is on my bucket list, but I don't have my travel companion anymore so I have my doubts whether I will ever see it. I do have a knowledge of it though ... you can't live in the US without knowing about Yellowstone. Your collage is awesome and I love your hat. I love that your hat goes with you on your travels ... you make me smile which isn't easy to do in the days that we are living in. If you ever decide to go back to Yellowstone a third time, let me know and I will meet you there :)
